S4 horn push retaining spring clip

PostPost by: milton » Sat Jul 20, 2019 6:34 pm

I'm refitting the steering wheel but the horn push retaining spring clip doesn't stay in place when I tighten the nut resulting in the horn push not being correctly aligned when fitted. There's a tab on the back of the spring clip but it doesn't prevent the clip from moving. Any tips to overcome this?
Thanks

I had the same problem with my S2. I trimmed the tab just enough to get the correct alignment.

I glued a piece of 180 wet and dry to the back of the clip and trimmed off the excess, it doesn't move when I tighten the 1-1/16" nut. Should be OK?

I kind of held it in place with my fingers before tightening the big nut. At least now, my horn button looks at me straight on. It's happy and so am I.
