Rear light Lens - why the price difference?

PostPost by: pabbage » Thu Jul 25, 2019 2:32 pm

Hi

Quick question .. I need to replace my off side rear lens as its cracked. Looking on eBay some originals are asking 100 pounds? while lotus dealers are asking 50 .. am I missing something? Is the modern replacement inferior.. the price of originality??

Cheers, Paul

There are reproduction rear lenses with slightly different reflectors, if your replacing both sides it doesn't matter but just one side will look odd next to an original (if such things bother you that is)

Also be aware the 2 seater rear lights are fitted upside down (orange indicator down) so a lens advertised as left hand is actually right hand and vise versa. So make sure you know what your actually buying. (btw +2's are orange side up so fitted the correct way round just to confuse even more)
