Just about completed a total rewire of my S4. As I have never had an owners manual and can't find it mentioned in the workshop manual.... What size fuses should go in the fuse box?

(By size I mean amps)

The originals are Lucas 35A/17A fuses. I've interpreted that to mean that they are "slow blow" fuses that take 17A continuous and will take a quick peak of up to 35A.

I'd like to see an EE chime in on this one.

The Elan Service Parts Book indicates 35AMP fuses.

35 Amp fuses are fine, at that current the wires will burn up way before the fuse ever even considers going, excepting a 12 gauge wire... mine did! I then replaced my fuse block with a six fuse ATO style fuse block from a marine supply house. Each wire got it's own fuse. I then swagged at the fuses to use based on what was the load device was. Simple, cheap, quick. And NONE of the fuses needed to be 35 Amps!
