Courtesy light circuit

I’m finding myself lost by the courtesy light wiring diagrams I have. It looks like there are 2 power sources, one at the multiple plug near the wiper motor that goes to the B pillar lights, and one from the window switch that goes to the dash mounted light. What am I missing here? I’m guessing something very simple and I’m just frustrated and over thinking this.

Hi, My experience is in Plus 2 wiring where the lights are wired in permanent live, the earth return being through the door and dash switches. It sounds as though your Elan is wired in the same way, the nearest permanent live being used to feed the lights....

Yes, power goes to everything, ground is switched. The dash switch also oddly turns off the panel lamps. Maybe that wiring is confusing.
