now that the fire trucks have left my garage and the electrical fire damage repaired -----can any one tell me how to wire the ignition light to the field wire from the alternater so the light goes out when i start the car? ed law :huh:

it's quite simple really,find a wire that is live with the ignition switched on(on the ignition switch,coil etc.),run that via the ignition light to the small connector on the alternator,done.
As the output of the alternator rises to the same level as the battery the light will go out.
