Oil leak from Distributer

Can anyone tell me if an oil leak can come from the bottom of the distributer where it enters the block .Having just completed a top end overhaul it was necessary to unclamp the distributer to adjust the timing. So have I disturbed something? I have noticed quite a lot of oil around the oil pump/filter area where its bolted to the block which is running down the side of the sump and dripping of the bottom. On closer inspection it seems the oil is coming from the base of the dizzy and running down on to the oil pump fitting and then on to the sump.
Your help would be much appreciated.

Remove Dizzy and fit new "O" ring.
If you have a Gasket Set it should be included. They tend to harden after a while

It's the sort of thing that comes in the Gasket Set and you say, "no idea where that goes"
I hope it's still in the Gasket Set

The O ring size is 23mm inside diameter and cross section 2mm. A Viton one will last longer than the normal Nitrile ones, better temperature performance.
