I've got the same, Nick. Purchased at the same time :-). The fellow selling them is Stuart Arbiet from
Custom Spares Ltd. Looks to be a wholesaler.

I personally detest using silicones, especially on the cam cover, every time you take the cover off you have to scrape all the old silicone off and I find it rather tedious not to mention the worry about bits of it getting into the oilways.

I have been using the standard cork gasket and wellseal for years now and i never get leaks. Apart from the filler cap of course!

The trick is to grease the cover before putting it on and the silicone never sticks to it, only the head.
Then you can take the cover off as many times as you like leaving the silicone behind, ready to seal again.
Mine's been there for years, and the cover's been on and off a few times.

So that's without the gasket?

No gasket,as such , just a permanent silicon "gasket" stuck to the cam cover..

john.p.clegg wrote:I swear by making a re-usable silicon seal on the cam cover, thoroughly clean both faces, lightly oil the head face and apply a bead of low modulus silicon sealant on the cam cover face , place on the head, apply light pressure and allow to " go off" for as long as you can , trim as you wish ....
