Ajusa, skim 0,08mm - oil- and combustion tight

the head skim (about 60quid, even here) made the difference. do you know that a head consists of about 110 bits?? i also (unlike before) rtv'd the "triangular corkgasket" to the case, used the head to have the weight were i wanted it and waited a couple ot hrs, cut the extra rtv off and fitted the new 87,5 (thats the next size after 84,0 btw) via my special, slitted centering bolts. and bolted her down -- t.g. the jugoslavian chap was around to help get the head in position - it's a mutha without a crane or just YOU! then filled up all the plumbing and started her - ran her for an hour - oil didn't ADD any new water -- IMPORTANT: i liked the consultent, who advised to torque the head after ONE hour. i did so AND (after loosening a tiny bit) did actually add a few degrees of torque or Nm! so that made sense - another difference: this brand new gasket was/is MUCH tackier than the one i used 6 months ago - makes me scratch the ol scalp; that could have been A reason?? cheers sandy PS my swiss engineer asked me about my compression and says there are limits for the ajusas! ............................on the road again -canned heat

Sandy
Looks like you're gonna lose a little of the 'ol compression ratio in the process, eh?

christo - quite in the contrary: skimming means MORE compression, as I see it Sandy ---- some of you may have the formula ready which "gives" us the new rate which we'llonly know in delta percentage: maybe instead of 11:1 11,02:1 ???? Sandy - goin' to nearby austria to pick up stuff at my austrian friends' place - its elan weather

i basically just go to last last message which i took part in and it's like the "what did u do to yr elan today" - i went there 2 or 3 times: tbh pretty boring in most cases! plus i hate to look for things and don't have the time for old junk sandy

But a little bit of effort on your part would keep everything in a logical order and save everyone else jumping from thread to several threads trying to keep up. Stop spamming the forum with multiple threads on the very same subject. You make it sound like laziness on your part when in fact it?s not difficult really.

Try using the "New Posts" feature. On the home page, click "New Posts":

new-posts.jpg and
New posts link on forum home page

It shows a list of threads that were updated since your last visit. There's not that much activity here (compared to some busy forums I frequent) so a daily check will not give you many threads. To jump to the first unread message in any post, click the little orange dot as shown:

capture.jpg and
"Jump to first new post" icon

If you click the thread title it will take you to the start of the thread (not what you want). You can tell which threads have been read - they don't have the little orange dot next to the title and the big icon to the left is grey, not orange.

Sorry but no you don't! That's the whole problem, you start a new thread each time. Lets do a search in the Engine forum by your name http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/search.php?keywords=&terms=all&author=el-saturn&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search:
2019-06-27-05_51_59-el-saturn-topics-by-lotuselan.net.jpg and

That's rediculous!! If people respond to one individual thread all the threads will get out of order. If you just keep one thread on the subject everything will stay in Chronological order.

Sandy, I am trying to help you keep everything organised so you (& everyone else for that matter) can figure out what is happening. At the moment I try to ignore your posts...

Hi Sandy
You want and have asked for and truly do need some help and education around your head gasket issues. You can make it a lot easier to get the help and advice you are seeking by using just one topic that everyone and yourself can add to rather that jumping from topic to topic somewhat randomly as the issue progresses. This avoids a lot of confusion and helps others help you.

cheers
