Engine LP198

Can anyone tell me about the origin of engine number LP198?

It may have come out of a Lotus Cortina. None of my early Elan records show any LP19# series engines fitted, so it might have been part of a batch for the LoCort production line.

Ask Andy Graham help.

Thanks a lot much appreciate your help.

I spoke to Andy Graham and he has no records relating to the ELAN so he also suspects its early 63' Mki1 Lotus Cortina.
