N00b With Ignition Problems...

Just an observation re the ignition problem that started this string.

In the land of 98 RON unleaded there appears to be a problem with spark plugs if you do not get a start withinin the first couple of attempts.

I have recently had a problem with a big valve motor where all ignition worked correctly but would not deliver a spark on new plugs. 2 sets in fact. The car had not been used for about 4 months.

After what took an eternity to clean, I tried the starter again and voila.

The local twin cam specialist tells me that he is having much the same problem ( has to keep cleaning plugs) and may be a result of only having unleaded available now and the unleaded 98 RON is a new mix for here, Perth, Western Australia. I add a dose of Valvemaster lead substitute every couple of tanks full.

Any thoughts?
