Vacuum pod mounting bracket

PostPost by: martinbrowning » Sat Jun 08, 2019 9:26 am

Hi there,
I've been looking for either the bracket or dimensions thereof which the non failsafe vacuum pod fixes to. (None present in my S130). However thinking what is its purpose?
- does it provide some sort of strengthening plate that the pod can push against when operating?
- does it provide a better alignment geometry for the operating rod?

If either of the above are correct, then why only on one pod, not both?

Martin B

PS. Still looking for a bracket or dimensions thereof

Martin, when I rebuilt my early +2, I selected to use the long “L “bracket part No 12 as listed on the diagram below on BOTH of my new Vac Pods.
I used large Penny washers on both sides of the body to mount the pods, rather than make item 37 as listed on the diagram below.

Thanks TeeJay, so does that L bracket bolt directly to the body shell?
