steering column top shaft S3

I am looking for the top half of the steering column shaft.
I am chasing rattles on my car and the steering wheel was rattling when the car was ticking over at low revs when very cold. As the engine warmed up and revs. rose to 1000 rpm as normal, it was quiet.
I could not feel excessive play but thought I would fit new bushes.
When stripped down I found that the shaft had been welded just at the point where the top bush fits.
The welding is rough and the shaft tip is 4mm eccentric.
Can anybody help me with one of these please.

Hi Craven,
Thankyou, I suppose I could use that. It is the later type with the steering lock in the middle.
Brian Buckland says that one makes it much more difficult to fit the bushes. I hope to find the early type which is made from 3/4" bar and will just pull out.

Joe 7, you are right, it is from the Triumph Herald but I have not found one yet. Rimmers do not list it.

Any other ideas will be welcomed.

I’m sure you would get one here but not sure they post stuff, I bought a rack a couple of years ago and there was plenty of Triumph stuff but it’s a typical scrap yard with bits all over

Hi Eric , I have an early non-locking Triumph column that you can have.. however having recently moved I'm not sure where it is stashed  Are you in a hurry for a replacement????
Can I just add that I have posted before that a Caterham item is much shorter than the Triumph part

Hi Brian,
That is brilliant, as yet I have not found one, although I have sent some messages to Triumph dealers over the weekend.
Is it a collapsible shaft or were they all like that?
I do want to do this fairly soon, as I was only chasing rattles and the car is in fairly regular use all year round and now it is off the road looking a bit sorry for itself.
Thanks for the information on the Caterham version.
Cheers
Eric

Hi Eric, PM sent.
Just to add to the Caterham comment, here is a picture showing the two together.

Thanks to Brian (ncm) above, I now have a suitable replacement shaft, and I can now go ahead with the reassembly.
Mark, Thankyou for the suggestion, Spitfire Graveyard were trying to sort one out for me when I got the offer from Brian.
Thanks to every one who tried to help.
