Still seeking rear bumper for 1968 Elan +2

Hello lovely people and thanks to those who responded to my original plea. I have since acquired two bumpers, for which I'm very grateful. One is in poor condition and needs rechroming (thank you Nigel!), which turns out to be very expensive, but it fits. The other is in better condition (thank you Ivan) but turns out not quite to fit, after I shipped it to the UK from Canada! Evidently not all Lotus Elan +2 rear bumpers are identical in shape. Is there any chance that there's another one out there, in the UK?

My original post: My 1968 Lotus Elan +2 was recently in an accident and I'm looking for a chrome rear bumper. Does anyone have one or know how to get one? I'm at [email protected] or 07833 435262. Thank you

I'm afraid good rear bumpers are impossible to find and if you do manage it they are very expensive.

....quite honestly you would be better just biting the bullet and getting the decent one re chromed - they do come up well with a bit of effort (and quite a bit of cash)!

Derby Plating did that one and all other chrome I've had done - they are truly excellent

Paul Matty used to do a not perfect but good +2 rear bumper - I assume this is an item Classic team Lotus hasn't picked up on ?
