I've done this little tweak on a TR6 with good result.
Has anyone tried it on the twin cam?

When I had the stromberg engine in the car I cranked the adjusting nut on the temperature compensator all the way down so it would never open. This allowed me to tune for it closed and then I was going to back it off so it would lean the mixture when warm, but I never got around to it. Then the dreaded right hand turn oil pickup problem bit and that engine is in the garage with the weber engine in the car.
