Modified airbox

I am modifying my airbox to make it deeper but unfortunately I do not have the engine in the car so cannot take any critical measurements.

Would someone be kind enough to measure for me the distance from the external face of the metal backplate on the carbs to the side of the pedal box (Plus 2S on Dellorto's)?

Jono,
On my 68 car it is 4 inches.
I'm not so sure if this will be the same on all cars as the later air boxes are larger than mine.

That equates to the approx value I interpolated from photos before I pulled the engine - much appreciated.

I will post up some piccies of the completed box and steps taken to form it when I'm all done.
