Sprint Airbox Question

The airbox on my Sprint uses a cork gasket to seal between the two halves. The gasket looks just like a cam cover gasket for an A series BL engine? Does anybody know if it is? I need one but don't have a local Lotus dealer...
Thanks

Hi there chaps, SJ Sportscars in Devon used to sell (2 yrs ago) a cork gasket for this job - wud be worth checking to see if still available. Right tho it does look like a probable bmc rocer box gasket. jc

I"ve got a rubber gasket between the halves on mine. It looks like a miniature boot gasket with a 'forked' side and a bulb side. The forked side fits on the trunking half of the airbox. Holds up well.

I have an old cork gasket but it has shrunk over the years.... I think the earlier Elans with a rubber 'boot type' seal as their airbox is a different design. The trunking side of my airbox is fibreglass with a wide lip which fits into the metal carb side of the airbox

Sorted the problem by using a strip of thin sticky backed draught excluder

I tried that and the petrol (gas) turned the rubber into "mush" best results were with some thin felt but later got the cork gasket from SJ Sportscars, have'nt fitted it yet........more pressing jobs to think about.
Clive,
I have not seen this sticker about sealant, I must have a look at yours.
