S$ ride height

My '68 S4 seems to be high at the front compared with others. Does anyone know what the dimension should be from the ground to the centre of the front bumper?
Also, if you compress the front of the car, the spring rate is very firm, whilst at the back it is quite soft, but well damped. I'd appreciate your views so that I know whether it is OK or whether I need to start looking at new suspension set-ups. The car seems to drive well enough but I don't know whether it could be better.
Thanks

On my S3 I have also noticed this tendancy to look higher at the front than at the rear.
While in Donington for the Lotus show last March I had a look around the car park and note that several Elan (but not all) had the same look.
I will have the measurements you ask tomorrow our the day after and next week-end will take a picture and post it.
Olivier.
