Track rod ends...

PostPost by: mark030358 » Mon Aug 25, 2008 7:56 pm

Any body had any problems with track rod ends?? I have just fitted two new ones and even though both are screwed fully in the wheels still appear to toe out. I have put a tap down each to ensure the thread bottoms, but still have a problem. Rack is unaltered ie rod ends as they should be... Only thing I can think of os dimension from centre of track rod to base of hole is too large.

Anyone had the same??

cheers Mark

Hi Mark,
Some time ago I had the opposite problem using Triumph Spitfire track rod ends that were a bit too short - too much toe in. Winding them out left too little rod in the end, so they got sent to a Spitfire owner. Did you keep your originals? Did you actually check toe?
Cheers,
