Master cylinder push rods Elan s4

Hi could anybody please give me the length of the push rods for brake and clutch master cylinder so I can make some new ones cheers

Do you have the old master cylinders or do you have only the replacement master cylinders.
With the replacements they can be bit too long so you can make several shim spacers. Fit between bulkhead and master so there is a little free play between pushrod and master piston.

Brian Buckland quotes 80mm in his book but have a read of this thread as other lengths are quoted although these may be more applicable to the early cars.

If you are making them it would be best to make them adjustable.

I recently made a push rod for my clutch master cylinder using a threaded clevis from merlin motor sport and a 5/16 unfortunately threaded rod from ebay. The clevis needed grinding down a bit as it was slightly too long and the threaded rod also cut down. I think my original pushrod was around 74 or 76mm the new length is nearer 80mm and works much better
