Wobbly Wheel!

Hello all!
After a bit of an argument with some ice and a kerb, I have a pretty noticeable rear offside wheel wobble. My mechanic had a look and tells me I have bent NOT the driveshaft exactly, but the section the wheel attaches to which in turn attaches to the driveshaft. I think he said "it was the bit your bearings go through" (sorry if that's arse-about-face). I'm sorry I can't give it a proper name, not being very mechanical, but if anyone has any suggestions as to exactly what this bit is called and where I might get one, I would be very grateful indeed!
Many thanks!
