Rear strut extended length?

I?m now about to fit new GAZ rear dampers to my Elan S4 and notice that the dampers are slightly shorter than the removed items.
There is a spacer provided which goes under the bottom of the GAZ unit to allow the top retaining but to fully clamp it into the tube now, suppose I don?t fit the lower spacer but make up a top spacer to do the same job? Will this give me the required droop restriction should I fit solid drive shafts at a later date? The spacer and slightly shorter damper travel will amount to about 20mm. How much does one need to shorten the droop for certain shaft kits?

Julian.

Hi Julian,
When I bought my CV shafts last year, Kelvedon told me that they used to recommend shortening the travel by 2omm but have now revised that to 25mm

Thanks Eric, sounds like a worthwhile tweak then..
