Mark 2 Girling Servo

PostPost by: pereirac » Thu Mar 11, 2004 7:19 pm

Hi,
Does anybody know if you can swap parts between a 51/5" unit and a 7" servo unit. I have a good vacuum chamber, diaphram, piston etc from a 51/2" servo and can get hold of a good 7" unit. They look the same but I can I change the vacuum tank on the 7" unit? I need to fix the servo on my Elan.

Thanks
Carl

You should be able to.

The size of the chamber determines the boost.

The workings in the cylinder should be the same.

For further info call Paul Norton at Norton Classic Servos.

I dont have his number handy, but he is very knowledgeable about these servos
and has been very helpful in the past.

Funnily enough, I actually called Paul Norton after posting this enquiry - I found his details on a web site. He was really very helpful so I will probably end up sending my servo to him to be rebuilt. What he does not know about servos is probably not worth knowing, I was very impressed. :D :D
