Is there anyone who knows a way to remove and replace rear springs on an S4/SE
without removing the bearing housing and the CV-driveshaft.
Is the droop enough to remove the (compressed) springs?
Please advise!

I recently replaced the rear damper inserts on my S4 drophead without disconnecting the drive shaft/doughnutsso you could certainly replace the springs.

I removed one rear wheel, then jacked up that corner of the car with a jack under the wheel hub until the other rear wheel was just clear of the ground. Doing this gives maximum compressionto to the spring for your comressor. (I held the spring compressed with multiple wraps of parcel strapping)

Remove the brake caliper, handbrake linkage, top strut nut in the Lotocone, and the outer wishbone bolts. Loosen the inner wishbone bolts and let the wishbone drop down.

The rear hub/strut assembly can now be pulled down and rotated about the wheel bearings giving all the access you need.
