steveww,
I have at the moment got standard springs (Spyder double wishbone chassis with skinny springs to be fitted soon), I bought new Minilites, made to order for the Elan as soon as these went back into production last year. I decided to get rid of the original wheels for all the reasons mentioned in the on-going discussion elsewhere, plus the fact that they were prone to cracking from day one.
I do not know the offset, but as the Minilites are specifically made for the Elan there is no problem. Buy them direct from the factory (Tech-Del), mine cost GBP423 inc delivery.
"Classics" magazine has a feature on Minilite this month and the car in their advert is mine! I have no connection, other than as a customer.
Contact me off-line if you need more info.
