Engine Stand Query

Has anybody used one of these engine stands for the storage of their twin cam?

If so, do the brackets bolt straight on to the engine mounts - or are adaptors required?

Both are advertised as appropriate for the Elan engine.

From this distance, the red one looks like the holes in the plates are in the right place.

The engine mount holes in the Elan block are the same as those for all the engines using this type of block:
Ford Anglia
Ford Cortina
Ford Escort
Pinto and Cosworth engined Sierras
etc

So I reckon it will fit.

I've got the top set. They bolt directly to the bosses in the block, no adapter required. In fact, the flanges contain more than four holes so I guess the stands were made for other types of blocks, too.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for that - I purchased the same black set on ebay.

They arrived yesterday - just what I wanted!

I noticed Malcolm Rickett's Workshop had one of each.

Thanks for the picture Bill.

When I was restoring my car between 1999 - 2001 I was living in Buckinghamshire.

When I was finished, I contacted Malcolm Ricketts to ask them to give the car the once over and then get it MoT'd for the first time since 1976.

It was very reassuring when they couldn't find anything wrong.

I currently can't remember the name of guy who actually did the work. - but that's hardly surprising at my age.

Edit - The captions of Bill's pictures have answered my question - Mike Loughlin :)
