Spinner Tool

PostPost by: Nic » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:26 am

I've also just ordered a spinner tool from Lionel for delivery in January. He says if anyone else is interested give him a shout as he is ordering material to make it now.

By the way, I took delivery of my +2 on Saturday, it has been the subject of an incomplete restoration and will be my project for the next year.

I have just received my Spinner Tool from Lionel too!

What a beautifully machined piece of kit....it's almost a pity to put it into service!!

Lovely man who knows how to make some good stuff.

:D

Thanks all for the connection and contact.

I have just received a Spinner Tool from Lionel and am very pleased with the engineering, it fits over the spinner with a most satisfying sound. Also found a 1/2" drive 6 point 28mm socket from Halfords at £10.99 to complement it.

Plan to do some experiments to find an angular torque figure for the spinners rather than rely on the given torque settings as in the past I have had some issues with spinner threads bottoming before clamping the wheel centre.

Hi, Mike (Washer), I think you may have a typing error, thats if your Spinner Tool is for the Std 3 ears.
Mine requires a 38mm socket, and yes Halfords sell a Professional Impact 6 point one for £10.99.

As a number of people have already stated, it is a great bit of kit.
