Engine stand

For those who may be worried about the strength of the ears on the block when mounting at the rear of the engine it is possible with some plates to fit 6 mounting points - I made the extra two as I was concerned about the strength of an aluminium block and didn't fancy mounting the block on the side engine mount point on the block.

I have no worries about using the side mount point on a cast iron block - that's how it was done by Ford and most likely Lotus too.

If using 4 mount points at the rear of the engine I prefer to use the top two bolt holes - as I feel it is using a stronger part of the block - and the bottom two ears.

Deviated off the subject a bit but have to say You've done a great job on the engine with the polished cam cover and modded oil filler cap it looks fab
well done.
