Lotus Trackday Silverstone full GP Circuit

PostPost by: exforty » Sat Sep 27, 2008 5:24 pm

Hi,
Just a question is anybody doing / going to the Lotus "Ultimate Trackday" at Silverstone on the 13th October 2008? This is exclusive to all Lotus marques, on the full GP circuit 3.194 miles. Trackday is a RMA event open pit lane 9am - 5pm, plus 2 course lunch total cost ?229.
I was just wondering if this is asking to much of my S4? or should I use my mates Elise?
Maybe I should take heed of the date and leave my S4 in the garage.!

The Silverstone GP circuit is more suited to powerful cars as the Hangar Straight is quite long. It is also a very technical circuit with most of the corners having late apexes so you have to turn in with out seeing the apex. Not my favourite circuit as you may have guessed but worth doing it you if you have never been round before.

Thanks for the info, I have done SPA, The Ring, Le-Mans, and Goodwood
before but that was in a GT40... where power was not a problem, I thought that "hanger straight" might be stretching the old girls legs a bit far, if you get my meaning !!

This event appears to have been canceled, see - http://www.club-lotus.co.uk/news2.php?id=95

Shame as I work across the road from the Silverstone circuit! :(

Apparently cancelled through lack of interest, :( all monies refunded looks like the credit crunch is beginning to bite.

I have just heard that the Silverstone track day is back on, :D apparently "Lotus On Track" have taken over the running of this cancelled avent.
No Lunch though, :( but it is ?29 cheaper than RMA and no charge for second driver.
