Having reported and seen "patched" the same hole at least 5 times in about 18 months, I eventually made an official complaint too SCC. Questioning the costs, lack of oversight and quality control etc.
Result . . . A quality repair that already lasted about a year and looks set to remain in place.
Its a pain to have to do it but it worked

I've just returned home from a week in Spokane Washington. Some of the roughest pavement in a US city I've ever experienced. During my previous visit I got around in a Fiat 500 Sport, which was MISERABLE due to the stiffness of the suspension. Noisy, bumpy, rattly, unpleasant.

Do you think there may be any connection between the state of the roads and the recent obsession with wallowing round in 2 Ton Panzer tanks with rubber bands for tyres?

Rob may have a good system for prisoners out there on the left coast. Democracy apparently still exists there but I believe the trend in the country is to privatized prisons where the incarcerated slaves are put to work making widgets and processing food. When the states were manufacturing things in the prisons there was a huge outcry from private industry for the unfair competition!

Appears England has let their infrastructure fall apart as we have ours. But, hey, its a free market!

I think the worst section of highway I have driven on was on I-70 in Illinois. Was trailering east to Vermont to pick up the Elva Coupe, traveling in the right hand lane when everything went silent. Suddenly realized that the truck and trailer had left the ground. I do have to give credit to Pennsylvania and its ability to merge a highway onto a bridge, without knowing you have done so. That was on I-80 headed west. The only state I have driven in that has managed to smooth that transition. I-5 north of Los Angeles is a close second in bad highways. Have flown the truck and trailer on that section as well.

This is my answer to pot holes, but it would be cheaper to fill them with ?20 notes
