Myself and my son are taking the Elan up to the Borders for the Jim Clark weekend and wondered if there was any others on here making that trip?

We are heading up on the Friday so as to join the trip over to Eyemouth for fish and chips. Convoy sets off from Chirnside at 7.15pm
Would be nice to catch up with one or two people to make the weekend more enjoyable.

...might have joined you to make up the Wedgwood Blue contingent!

Sadly however I will be putting my engine and gearbox back in this weekend instead of driving it.

I did it last time in the Plus 2 - I'm based east of Carlisle and we drove up through the borders, lovely drive.

If I get bored with the workshop I may jump in the daily and have a tootle up there!

Hi Rob,

Just seen your post. I shall be driving Jimmy's Elan 997 NUR to Chirnside on Friday all the way up the A1 from the old factory at Cheshunt. Please come and see me and talk about Elans, Jimmy, 25's, 38's 49's from the golden years that we all love!!

I shall be hovering around 997 making sure it comes to no harm......

Heading up North from Suffolk tomorrow in the Subaru. Went in the Elise in 2015 but as the wife cannot decide what to wear for the dinner Saturday evening the whole wardrobe is coming along with us. Staying at Burnmouth so close to Eyemouth.

Thanks for the responses guys, hope to see those of you that make it on the day and lets hope we get some decent weather for the Saturday at least when I'm sure the cars will be the stars.

Excellent weekend away meeting some wonderful Lotus enthusiasts to remember the life and times of a wonderful, Racer, Farmer and person. Really great turnout of Lotus cars and a some touching tributes made to the great man.
Looking forward to seeing the new Museum in all its glory when completed.
Managed to speak with a number of people and enjoyed the whole weekend. Car behaved impeccably, even managed to catch a glimpse of a Wedgewood Blue Elan +2 on the M6 on route to the event on Friday around lunchtime, close to the Penrith Turnoff....Anyone on here?

Hope those who were in attendance also enjoyed the weekend.

Rob,

I have a Wedgewood Blue +2 and live a short distance from Penrith but it was not me as my engine is currently out.

I don't think I've ever seen another one and certainly not in Cumbria so if it is a local owner I would be interested to know!

PS: there was a local Lotus club meet on the A6 between Carlisle and Penrith on Saturday so it could have been going there.
