Hi,
I Am a member who always looked you information (in which I really learned a lot but never posted questions and answers .Now I think it is time to do more. I have a Lotus Elan S2 1965 # 26-4840 and it is my 1st of 4 children (3 human 1 mechanical).. Got it in 1980 and have worked in it since then. It is my hobby and love the car and working on it when things go smooth. and when the work solves the issues that occurred .. here in Canada the summer is short but that's fine more time to tinker.. The car has been extremely good to me and her name is "The Goat".
I have one question to start.. What are the bolts sizes for the Rotoflex I know the they are 7/16 x 3 and 7/16 x 3.25..
BUT WHAT SIZES are THE SHANK LENGTHS FOR THE TWO BOLTS. I heard 2 " and 2.25". If so then I can get them from Fastenal US . if they have them or they will make them for me a great price..

Thanks,
Lou

Hi Lou, welcome to the forum.

Hopefully the attachment is readable.
If not:-
18 off Bolts 2.75" long with 2.12" plain shank.
6 off Bolts 3.25" long and have a 1/2" longer thread, therfore the plain shank is 2.12"

These longer bolts are used to hold the brake disc.

I got my specialty bolts from AircraftSpruce Canada but here is the link to the US site. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/search/search.php They should be able to supply any of the bolts you need & maybe some you didn't know you needed.

Welcome Lou from a place colder than England! You'll be fine if the heater is working though I rarely use mine after fifty years of open motoring.

TeeJay quotes what the bolts usually are but the longer one doesn't actually need a longer thread, it just needs a longer shank to pass through the disc and the 5/8" thread on the end. I believe it was a standard type but the shorter one was special in England so was made with just the necessary length of thread.
