Hi all,
My latest 'investment' ie toy is a September 1971 build Elan +2 S130 in Lotus yellow/silver. Originally supplied new to an owner in New Zealand who sold it in the early 70's but then bought it back in 2006 and restored it keeping it for another 10 years. He kindly gave me photos when new and during the resto as part of the history file. Chassis is original and rust free and it appears even the sills are original and still ok with a mixture of primer and surface rust. All matching nos etc and very original. I have brought it to Sydney and had it registered with the same no plate as originally supplied in NZ. Working through the fettling process now and homework reading the various forums.....it still has the original narrow radiator and original fan (Lucas wiper motor?) so I suspect some upgrades may be required to survive Sydney traffic during the Aussie summer..... I just rebuilt the webers to cure a fuel leak upon shutdown....the mod suggested on 1 of the posts worked a treat so what a wonderful resource. I am not a complete Lotus newbie ....I ran a new Elise for 5 years from 2007. Seems as I get older so do my cars.
Paul
