New Elan owner

Good day fellow enthusiasts.

I just acquired an S4 FHC, realizing a dream I've had since the early sixties.

I've been lurking here for quite a while learning a lot. I'll post more about the car when she arrives home. Currently awaiting pick-up in California.

My automotive background started with a 1969 Cortina GT, then went Japanese. I currently have a 1998 Nissan 240SX (Silvia to many of you) which is set up for capable yet comfortable touring. But it doesn't hold a candle to the Elan for sheer driving fun.

Cheers
David

Welcome! 181bhp in a standard looking car, that should humble most people that try and race you away from the lights :D

Welcome David,
You don't mention 181bhp, so Rob (Mazzini) obviously has prior knowledge of your car. I have a similar amount of power in my S4 which is a very docile beast until you wake it up with a dose of right foot.

Any Lotus is addictive and any Elan especially so, even the standard cars are capable of embarrassing many a latter day performance car.

I hope to see more of you and your car on here.

Hi David,
Congratulations on joining the Elan owners. Where are you in ONT. I live in Burlington & a couple of other Elan owners live in Oakville. The Toronto Lotus club meets on the last Mon. of the month (this Mon.) at the Wild Goose at 5395 Eglinton Ave W.
Cheers,
Keith

Congratulations on the new Elan, from one white S4 with 181 horsepower to another. Now that you are moving your new car from California to Canada perhaps I now have the "California white S4 Elan 181 hp" title back solely for myself. Who knew I had a fraternal twin (me: DHC, you: FHC). Both cars starting out with Strombergs but now with Webers.

If you are driving your car to Canada (unlikely?) or transporting it yourself and you happen to hit Napa on your route, please stop by to compare notes.

Enjoy.

Hi Keith

I'm in Belleville. When we retired and left Toronto I picked Belleville for being 1 hour from Mosport, 20 minutes from Shannonville and 2 1/2 hours from Calabogie.

I have joined the Toronto club and will be joining the Ottawa club as well.

I won't make this month's meeting but will aim to come in in the future.

David

Thanks 1owner69Elan

Hold your title with pride.

Napa is a place we'd love to see, but my car is coming by carrier.

Cheers
David

Lovely example.
I?m jealous of your door fit. Is that original or did you improve it?
