Hi All
I?m not entirely new to the joys of this type of car ownership. I ran a TVR S for a while and that was a lot of fun.

I had to drop out of that but now I?m back in the mood for a British sports car and a +2 is it.

Before I get myself in trouble I thought I?d join and see if I can pick up a bit of know how before buying one. I?m sure after buying one I?ll need even more support!

Im looking out for a decent runner in good shape, hopefully a private sale but you never know

Anyway just saying hello and I hope to enjoy being here

Jim

Hi Jim and welcome.
You will find lots of good advice on here.
My first suggestion is to join a classic car club if you are not already a member.
Personal experience and help should be readily available.

Thanks Eric

I'm not far from Burnley and i was there the other week for the City match.

My TVR was similar it was an 81 S3 but there were so many car to car mods in the works that no manual was really accurate. It had a million quirks and that was part of the charm of it really.

I was planning to stick around and pick up some knowledge before taking the plunge but you know what it's like!

..and then trawl through Fleabay , practical classic ads , etc. etc
Go and see those local to you , ask plenty of questions there and then here , but be wary of travelling to the south east coast...forgot the name at the moment....

John

Found it,PM me and I'll send you the link....

Jim.
If it is practical, then the Club Lotus north west branch meet at the Houghton arms near junction 3, M65 on the first Saturday of the month. Plenty of Plus 2 expertise there.
I won`t be there on the 1st June as it is Tatton Park show. but I am sure you will be made welcome even if you are not a member.
If you make it to Tatton Park, I am the old guy with very little white hair and a Blue S3 on the Club Lotus stand.
Usually a couple of Plus 2s as well.
Cheers
Eric

John,
I may have been to that same place in the south east. Been there, done that, didn`t like it !!!

Hi Jim
Having finally made the jump and got one myself, go for it!
Only had mine a short time and it is now in more individual components than when it arrived but enjoying the journey...
Also in West Yorkshire (Huddersfield area)
Regards
Mel
