I happened to come across this site. And i was one of Dave Vegher's volunteers coming to his shop usually twice a week in torrance to help in any way..go for things.. Lunch... And I was his personal photographer for his races, I only missed one race.. "Portland" it was great fun for the 3 years he went racing. I have alot of still photos of his lotus on track. Not sure how to send my pics.. There not digital yet. Thanks.. Vincent Ramirez from Riverside Ca.

Welcome Vincent.

As I have a Vegher twincam in my Elan and Dave is a good friend, I would love to see some of your photos posted here.

I suspect Dave would enjoy seeing them as well. He is recently retired so might have the time to reminisce a bit.

PM me if you need help in figuring how to post them.

Hello there: Vince. R. Here to say I gave dave a copy of all the pics I took, he has the same photos also.. I had a video tape of some if his races alone with his last national runoff in 84' I believe. My brother stole my original tape. But I made a VHS copy of it and dave has it if he hasn't lost it since 1984. I tried to post a couple of photo's but it came back file is too big to send.!! But if you have an e-mail address I can send some that way without a problem. On messanger. My E-mail is [email protected] or 951-399-5073 I'm in Riverside, Ca. 92509. Thanks.. Vincent Ramirez.

Vincent sent me a bunch of photos of Dave Vegher?s Elan, 3 time SCCA National Champion. Pretty radical Elan as you can see. Dave was too successful so they kept handicapping him or moving him up a class each year to allow the competition to catch up. His engines (?Vegher Power?) are now ubiquitous throughout vintage racing.

I was fortunate that Dave agreed to build my high output, broad torque curve, tractable street engine given that his focus was usually in building high rev race engines:

Even though Dave has recently retired and intends to go traveling, he says he still has a few projects in hand.
