Good day out. Free to get in, don't have to be a Club Lotus member to wander round, think you do to get on track, and places get taken up early as they're limited. CCombe is also quite noise restricted, so be prepared to 'invest' in an extra clamp on silencer from Merlin Motorsport if you've a noisy car (nice little earner, methinks).

It's a gentile track day, organised into short sessions (6 laps at circa 1:30 per lap, if I remember correctly). I think you'll normally get at least 2-3 sessions guaranteed.

Good to see cars getting used and Combe is a good venue for spectators.

As a track is quite quick in the dry and quite scary in the wet (though I've only attended and been passengered). Scary in wet 'cause it's a fairly open/fast circuit and if you get some bits wrong it can bite (Avon rise into Quarry).

Date according to http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/ is Sat 27th May

HTH,

Niall

Good day out as Niall says.

I drove last year and it was great fun. I only saw Europas with the additional silencers fitted, which I think they had at the track (you need to queue up for a noise test before they'll let you on).

Highlight was seeing a s4 seven with two up blasting past pretty much everything else on the track.

Haven't had any info through from Club Lotus about it yet though - maybe my membership has lapsed!

Ok,Thanks guys-i live within 10 miles of the circuit, but always manage to find out about the lotus day after its happened, and have been slightly hesitant to go as i'm not a club member, and my lotus isnt exactly a pure one!!try to avoid the" tyre kicker" types!
will now make the effort to go this year!
cheers,peter.
