Anyone go to the Classic Car Show at the NEC? I heard they were doing a Spyder Zetec conversion live in the hall and trying to complete it over the weekend...?

I was there on Saturday,
"Wiggy" of Spyder was building up a Zetec & MT75 plus all their other drive train & suspension bits into a chassis.
He told me that he also did it on the Friday for something that was being filmed.

I think he did it for a new article in Classics Monthly.

They are now doing a piece on the Spyder Zetec conversion.

In fact Classics Monthly were displaying a really rough +2 which they are going to completely rebuild into a Spyder and serialise the build, month by month.

I prefer to go to the classic motorsport show in the new year, as my main interest is old racing cars. However as well as all the great old racers it is a great place to find component suppliers, machine shops etc....

Did anyone else notice that that really rough +2 next to the Spyder stand had an engine with a "Lotus Holbay" rocker cover. Do they realise what a rare engine they have, I wonder.

Maybe "Wiggy" at Spyder did also

Got a copy of "Classic Monthly" yesterday. The +2 Zetec project looks like it's going to be an informative read.
