You have:
1. Leclerc in Li?ge (no web site) - no experience with him
2. Pirard in Li?ge
http://users.skynet.be/pirardjean/ - had him on the phone once or twice but never used him.
3. Verhiest in Oostende
www.lotus-verhiest.com/ sent once an email asking for Elan parts, never get a reply. I think they are more into modern things!!
Regards.
Olivier.
I regularly drive past Verhiest on my way to Oostende for business.
It's in the industrial estate area along the A10 just before you enter Oostende. For many years I've only seen the oldest car being an Esprit.
Never felt tempted to stop by as its over 120 miles from home and having a 1971 Sprint chances are slim they do know their stuff on such cars.
There's a guy in Holland near Nijmegen that has many new old stock parts
for Elans and Elites (S1). That's Arno Huberts. His URL
http://www.caterham.nl
I believe he took over the whole inventory when the Lotus dealer in Nijmegen went belly up many years ago.
Apart from that I'd try to rely on sourcing parts from the UK like Sue Miller etc.
My experience with servicing my Elan in the Netherlands is not too good when using a "specialist". I brought my car for MoT and a good look over to the Dutch Lotus dealer in the hope they knew their stuff.
They had to address some shorting behind the dashboard (wipers and wash, plus radio) as well as upgrading to a alternator.
3 months further and 1,000 pounds lighter the car ran 1500 rpm-4500 rpm at idle the , radio did not work at all and the wipers were still shorting.
Oh my was I pleased. I subsequently brought the car to my local specialist who is more into Jag's, TR's and MGs. They sorted it out for me again and in 2-3 weeks time. another 4 months later and another 600 Pounds lighter thecar runs fine. They checked the compression and found 2 cylinders at 5 bar (72 psi) so I will need an engine overhaul this winter.
