Hi Guys,
Had one of those great mornings..
beautiful crisp autumn morning, commuting in the +2...
< 1 mile from my house and a beautiful blue and white elan sprint pulls out behind me!
(This isn't something that happens to me on a regular basis)
The sprint follows me for most of my commute and then dives off left to Berkswell.
Made me keep smiling even when my train was delayed!!!!
Is the owner of the car on the list?
Tim

I do hope that the driver gave you a wave or slow flash of the headlights before diving off.

If I recall correctly, it was MG owners who, between the wars, started to wave to each other in acknowledgement of their shared ownership and enthusiasm for the marque. Then others followed suit, though I think mainly amongst owners of less numerous sports cars.

PS By the way, it wasn't me!

Of course Lotus owners acknowledge each other on the road, they are, after all, intelligent, discerning and simply a better class of person 8)

I thought they waved because the electrics had failed as he was coasting to a stop and he would be needing a push ---ed

Hard to tell whether they waved as I had my eyes on the eurobox in front who was dawdling!
Did try and wave at them, but its hard to stick your arm out the window and wave backwards without it looking as though you are having some kind of spasm!
Cheers

I always thought that the MG wave was to warn each other of the oil slick they were leaving behind
