Yes... I have a S3 coup? 1965 - an S3 coup? 1967 - an S2 Roadster 1965 - and a Plus 2 1968.
I don't know about Italian cars being better or not as the ones i've ever owned were complete crap, but they were not obviously Ferrari's or Lambo's or similar and I would still question if they are better or not than an Elan

I have been offered a direct swap once with an Elan for a Ferrari which I turned down
