Spotted on, and taken from the driver seat of our Lotus Elan Sprint during a tour of France in 1983; you've just gotta laugh at this - and please note that I've owned, driven, amd maintained Lotus cars from 1972 to 2012 so even I can see the funny side of this advertisement:

There's a rumour that Colin C chose the name Lotus after seeing such an advert.

It is mentioned somewhere here on site; I think he said it to some media people, but personnaly I think it far more likely that he saw such an advert much later on and invented the story to 'tease' the media pests.
