Black gunk in radiator overflow bottle

I was fitting a new air horn (i have nearly be drove over by a couple of trucks, by being in there blind spot)
Any way, i noticed my radiator overflow bottle has a black gunk baked on in I think i used VW anti freese.
Any ideas what will cause this? I suspect a different antifreese will help.
