I'm interested. I have a '71 Sprint RHD Coupe that I believe was owned previously by an American serviceman stationed in England.
Thanks,
Gary

I'm in as support for the cause!
but,
I appear to already have the DVLA information from the previous owner (also in Australia)
I wonder how he got it?
this was in 2002.

I'm interested as well. I'm the second owner. My +2 was purchased by another US Air Force member and originally registered in Suffolk. That information would complete the ownership paper trail. That may be needed when I go to get a Nevada title after my records being purged by California while the car was non-op.

I support the motion; however, I believe I have the information on my S3 SE from a previous owner.

Just to let you know that things haven't been forgotten. This thread has been useful to gauge the amount of interest. I believe the next step is to find out what motoring press support there may be for a change in DVLA policy. It might take a while but will be back with more info when I have it.
Cheers all
Steve
P.S. If anyone else has a car that they may want to trace the history on then add your details to the thread - the more support the better the chances of something changing.

Hi,
I am another Aussie who has an ex UK S4 DHC (45/9640) and would love to know more about its history before it was bought over here by someone who purchased it when he worked in UK.

Last I heard from Alan Morgan CL was that DVLA are not replying to letters (they are getting lots of complaints about fining owners who have notified a change of vehicle but they've lost the correspondence and are having to refund fines etc. - doesn't bode well does it?). He says he will write again and also mentions the motoring press don't hold out much hope either. All we can do is keep trying but I'm afraid its a bit like knocking your head against a brick wall.
