In catch up mode...
I have tried Classicplates online; VPplates, Tippers, Chestnut who all said they cant do it. I have made an enquiry to Framptons along the suggested show plates line but haven't had a response yet (and I will let you know once I do).
The issue about engraving is where it happens in the process - to replicate the original I think it has to happen to the acrylic from the back and before the silver mirrored backing is glued onto it so that the engraving cuts through the black paint on the one side of the acrylic to then expose the silver surface of the mirrored backing. If you engrave from the front of a completed plate you wont expose that silver backing and therefore not see the lettering - hope you get the gist.
