Hi all,
as requested by Brian Buckland, I hereby issue an invitation:
all Elan owners in Spain (and southern France) are invited to come to chat with Brian, to arrive with their Elans and show their problems or just the vehicle.

He will come to Tarragona (Spain) with his car on October 12th for finishing work on the second edition of his book and will stay for a "few" days.

Please contact me if you plan to assist.
Regards

Guillermo

It would be great if those with the first edition could just slot in the new pages!

The guy has to make a living.

He will already be losing out from the pirated photocopied and PDF versions.

TBH i thought he had done well not to get Pirated? (can't say i have seen copies or PDF's for sale??)

I get he has to make a living but is it allot to ask for an Upgrade package to be made for those who bought the original? I have no problem paying for it but i'd be a bit loathed to have to buy a second copy of the book knowing my original most likely won't have any residual value once the new version comes out.

I too would love to be able to purchase an addendum to my original copy. I find myself frequently referring to the book when working on the S2 or the Plus2.

Sorry for not being clear. The other commentators have correctly guessed that I am more than happy to pay the going rate for this fantastic publication, but with a slotted file system an update pack rather than the whole affair would be welcome .
It would seem unlikely that the whole book needs editing, but you never know.

And I would happily pay as well, if for nothing else to support someone who's dedication and product I value.

He has a finite market so once he has reached a certain penetration he may well consider an upgrade revenue stream.

Yes, but I'm not sure where I got it from so am not making it public. He is also 'elanman' on the forum but has only posted a few times so may not read it often!

I'll send a PM. Best of luck!

Hi all,
thank you very much for your comments, he basically didn't sell the book to make a living. If that were the case, he would have suffered hunger in the 10 years that he has needed to sell the first edition...

"I am here to help" is the sentence that he has repeated more than any other, at least regarding our much loved Elan. This the main motivation for him.

Regarding the new edition, I do only know that the engine section is rewritten. I will post some details as soon as possible (after October 15th) ...

Regards
Guillermo

Brian has just posted his email address to me, possibly instead of to you, Paul, and seems happy for anyone to contact him with a problem. His current eddress is (as modified at Bill's suggestion):

elanman26 AT gmail DOT com

Argh, do do that!

Edit the email address so that is not intelligible by scanning 'robot' or Brian will get lots of spam. e.g name at domain e.g billwill_lenet at datahighways.co.uk

This is a popular website and open so it is frequently scanned by address-gleaning robots.
