Carbtune II connection to Webbers

My Christmas present to myself this year was a Carbtune having read great comments here.
https://www.carbtune.com/carbdtls.html

Well now I embarrassed to admit I do not know how to connect it.

My carbs are Webber 40 DCO E31?s but I can?t work out which screw to remove in order to attach the Carbtune?s brass adaptors.

Lots said a Dellortos on the forum but I can?t find a thread that mentions Webber attachments.

I would be very grateful for those with more knowledge than I to point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Peter

I don`t think the 31 version has built in vacuum ports.
The later 151 definitely has.
I have tried using them with a set of four gauges, but I found the air flow meter easier to use.
Maybe you will have to fit them.

Peter,

They only go in Weber 151's or (45 size) 152's. Sorry. That's why a few of us have gone to later carbs like the 151.

Beat me to it while typing. I like the 4 channels, IMO better than swapping about to ram tubes with air filter off.

Yeah, just been out to look.
Where yours has three brass covers/screws, mine has four, plus the air bypass adjusting screw under a plastic cover.
Mike, it is how you find it isn`t it. Maybe I should have persevered with the gauges.

Yes Eric,
I have played with both types and since got the better snail jobby (as well as that ratty old Gunsen thing). Nice but I love seeing all four on the carb tune. Plus when you play with the air bypass at tick over you can see what happens as you open the butterflies. I suppose it is what you get used to.

Mike & Eric

Thats a shame I was really looking forward to this weekends tinkering after the Christmas break. As I searched through posts earlier today I sensed I might be out of luck.

Should have checked before as I now have a redundant Carbtune as I have no desire to shange my carbs.

Oh hum. and of course thanks for the help.

Best

Peter

Peter
you could always drill the inlet tracts and fit a brass barb in each to connect the "Carbtune".
If you do then drill on the top of the inlet tracts not the bottom so you will not get fuel going into the vacuum tubes.
If you drill and fit barbs there are little rubber caps available to slip in place when not in use.

Peter I was thinking of getting one of these - Santa didn?t come up with the goods this year - so if you wanted to get your money back I?ll take it off your hands.

I nearly said `John will be along soon to show you how to do it properly`
The way to go if you want to stick with it.

John / Eric

Thanks for the suggestion but I do not want to tamper with the head which I will leave to experts. Before I get shot at my Plus 2 is a BRM hence not wanting to fiddle. I will be seeking advice from the forum later this summer as to how to further verify this beyond what I have from Andy Graham.

Richard, I love aquiring tools but being realistic I am not changing my carbs so it will never be used. It cost me ?75 if your are happy with ?65 I will pay the P&P.

Thanks
