Does someone here own this engine ?

I'm trying to source the Gillmer crank/waterpump pulleys and the alternator V-belt pulley in the photo. Does anyone know the outfit that sells them or the owner of the car/engine. Thanks for the help.

Dave Bean Engineering sells a toothed belt kit for the water pump and alternator. It is a single belt, not stacked like the one in the photo.

Pegasus sells a similar kit designed for Formula Fords that is crank and water pump fit only.

That would be mine. The water pump Gilmore drive was sourced from Lotus by Claudius.

Burton Power in the UK lists Gilmer belt drive pulleys for the water pump.

Dave Bean used to, but they're out of stock. It appears that with the passing of Dave Bean, Mrs. Bean isn't as eager to inventory special parts like this. There's some doubt that DBE will ever carry the toothed pulleys again.

Claudius used to offer the Gilmer pulley sets... and may still. I don't know. But a lot of the parts and services they used to offer are no longer available.

There's an engine specialist in Florida that sells a Gilmer kit. The name escapes me at the moment. If anyone really needs it, I'll ask Lotus-buddy DaveL were he got his... in Florida.

Many of the Gilmer kit suppliers used to offer options. An under-drive ratio if you were building a track car and would be spending most of your time near redline. An over-drive ratio for better cooling in hot climates. And a near-stock ratio. When you order, ask.

The Gilmer belt doesn't have to be as tight in order to drive the pump, and that takes a lot of load off of the pump's bearing... extending it's life. I put a Gilmer drive on my Twin Cam back in the early eighties, and never had to rebuild the pump again (it was a daily driver and saw lots of miles before I sold it). It's a good revision.

Most pump pulleys press onto the shaft, so it's something best done during a pump rebuild. I'm not aware of a bolt-on Gilmer conversion that would be a casual change for a Saturday afternoon.

Hi,
I have been using this bolt on Gilmer drive kit from Burton Power in the UK for the past 8, or so, years. No problems. http://www.burtonpower.com/water-pump-a ... 225dk.html
Cheers,
Colin.

Mrdoow
Presumably you know that Vintage Performance Developments are using this picture of your can on their website?
