There has been a health issue in spring, nothing serious, but molesting Brian for quite a time.
Mid September I will go to Bristol, and Brian promised to have the engine chapter finished by then.

Any luck in purchasing the revised edition before I leave London in the beginning of October. I would like to have some interesting reading material on the plane trip home and during my restoration of a 1969 fhc, S4SE.

Who should I contact?

Many thanks, Brad

Hello Brad,
I am sorry, but at that date it will be impossible to have the book ready.
Even if I get the revised chapter "ready for printing" next week and get it to the printer, they say they need two weeks minimum.

Good morning to all fellow Elan owners !
Good news !
I received the engine chapter files, I will now dedicate to put together and format all pages, re-adjust table of content, check if everythings OK, adjust frontpage, check, create PDF, check, upload, check ...

To avoid to generate costs related to (a legally obliged) self-employment (like accounting, VAT declaraction ,etc), the book will be handled by my company Grafos Verlag GmbH. Normally dedicated to original art prints, it delivers world wide and already has all the structure to handle this book easily. Just to clarify beforehand.

At first, only softbound version will be available, I suppose in 10 days maximum.
UK and Europe, delivery is - for print-on-demand - quite fast, UK usually 3 days, Europe 4 days, both delivered with UPS.

I will make a pre-sale offer as soon as I got prices.
For placing pre-orders I will create a form on theelanman.com, I will post an update here.

Ringbinder version will be available in about 4 weeks after delivering PDF, but being December/Christmas I doubt getting anything this year.
Of course, same pre-order offer will apply to ringbinder, but will tell that as soon as I get details.

Thanks
Guillermo

Guillermo,

Thank you for all your effort here. I am sure it is appreciated by all Elan enthusiasts.

There had been some discussion early on about making the new sections and chapters available as an addendum to those who already have a copy of the existing publication (for a charge of course).

Is this still a possibility?

Andy.

Hello Andy,
the "chapter replacement package" will be on sale "some time next year".

To be honest, this book is quite an investment (I paid Brian a honorary, and printing the ring binder is quite expensive).
All is done in my free time, which regrettably is scarce, look at my signature, it does not change :( ...
And it's with a "black zero" (no benfits) in mind.

So, it will be done, it will available. But it is third on list.
First is "softbound", second "ringbinder", third "chapter replacement".
Thank you for your patience !
Regards
Guillermo

Sorry, just to clarify: it is ONLY the engine chapter.
All the rest has not been touched !
I suggested update some parts, but have been ignored.
Maybe for 3rd edition.

Hello,
we are finished. Book and cover is done.
The pdf file is not yet sent (1.2 GB !) to the printing company for their last checks.
I suppose the books could be printed from Dec. 10th on.

Remember, we are talking about SOFTCOVER version (Ringbinder: February 2019)

From now on orders for softcover version will be accepted.
There are PREORDER discounts for a limited time (up to Dec. 15th).
Please check theelanman.com for details.

Thank you for your patience !

Hello all,
the book has been uploaded last week, the first quality checks are confirmed (all within print margins, inks, fonts, etc), now it's state is "Title in Premedia". As soon as the book can be printed I will update here and all buyers individually.
Thanks
