I mentioned this elsewhere, but it should have its own posting:

VINTAGE Lotus caravan to LOG38 from Philadelphia
We have so far a 4-Elan caravan going from Philly area. We're taking 2 days and a scenic leisurely ride up through Princeton, NJ, over to Allentown/Bethlehem PA, up through Jim Thorpe area, up as far as Rt6 and westward hoe. 2 or 3 of us are stopping overnight in Wellsboro, PA and 1 or 2 may continue on through to LOG.
We require only VINTAGE Lotus (so as not to be tempted to excessive highway speed driving). Leaving Thursday morning. If you want to tag along in your vintage Lotus, let us know.
if you want to join, contact me and I can provide more specific details.

Hope it goes well as it's a nice driving route up to Wellsboro. We toured up there last year starting in Frenchtown NJ and overnighting with some friends near Middlebury Center. We were on motorcycles but it would be perfect for Elans.

About what time of day will your group reach the Ohio border?

Mike, part of our group is pushing through in one day, so they will reach Ohio border by very late afternoon sometime. Two of us are taking the whole 2 days, so we won't get to Ohio until Friday after noon sometime. We're very loose about it with no pressing time schedule. were you thinking of joining in somewhere near the border? I think that would be difficult to arrange in all honesty.
See you at LOG!

I had hoped to get my Elan back together in time for this year's LOG but it's not going to happen - but it's much closer than it's been and depending on location, it may make the drive to LOG next year!

We do have a caravan of 3-4 (or more) newer Lotus going all back roads Friday morning and passing through a good bit of PA including the Allegheny Forest; hopefully we won't hit too many of the forecast thunderstorms on the way there!

Have a great drive and we'll see you all there. I am going to bring one of my just-arrived Lotus Marques CV conversion axles if anyone would look to see what one of them looks like before it's mounted on the car.

Ted, Chris and Glen meet up for breakfast on Thursday and the start of our first 250 miles of great Lotus driving roads on Route 6 in Pennsylvania. Friday is the next stage of another 300 miles to Cleveland Ohio and LOG38.

Nice thing about a road trip is it?s all about the journey along with the side trips along the way. Day two was even better than Day one......nice twisty roads, lots of elevation changes, great venues to stop and see ( the Kinzel Bridge State Park in Kane, PA) and the most wonderful BBQ on Route 66 at DB?s Smokin BBQ Shack in Lucinda, PA. Got to meet the owner Doug. Stop on the way home and savor some of the best BBQ in the country. All in all, a great day.......until it started raining 20 minutes from the LOG38 location.

600 miles of really nice sports car driving. The perfect way to start the weekend.

I met up with seniorchristo for the last leg of the trip, we had a nice ride through the Ohio countryside.

As always, met some great folks and old friends.

At the car show yesterday, Bob Dance was kind enough to be photographed with my car. He is quite a gentleman.

Fantastic day at the LOG38 Concours. The weather was beautiful and the diversity of Lotus cars was very nicely represented. And because there is a personal interest in early Elan?s, I was surprised at how many were at this LOG. A Type 79 was proudly displayed with a variety of Lotus race cars surrounding it.

Saturday nights banquet was MC?d by Richard Parimint. Richard does a very good job of keeping thing light hearted and funny.
