Hello chaps. I am having a bloomin terrible time trying to pick a new colour for the grp bits of my 64 seven. I want to keep the ali panels but cannot decide on what colour to do...I have two sets of grp and one will be brg. I've looked at lotus yellow but I thinkits a bit pale. So...have any forum members painted their sevens in lovely colours? maybe not the standard yellow, green or red? Am thinking a deep red like the old alfa gp cars or a more egg yolk yellow, or citroen "blue nuit" which I saw on a traction avant and looks great.
Any pics to give me inspiration?
cheers.
Will

This is lotus factory red with polished aluminum.
Nice combo I think.
At drivers school 50 years ago with aluminum foil to keep the engine warm on a cold morning. The wheels are Lotus wobbly mags.
The backs of the fenders are too low and were moved.

Pastel blue looks great on an early Seven, there are a few light blue cars featured but all are glossy and solid colour, to me they look great with the tub in bare alu not to highly polished and the GRP panels in a semi gloss pastel blue, no shinier than the aluminium, that way it looks like a time warp car even to those who cant see the difference between an original and the supersize me modern versions.

Yes, I saw that one. Looks great. I've tried a brief sample of L07 but I'm not sure. Am currently toying, despite reservations as to metallic paint, with ecurie ecosse blue or aston dubonnet....

Thanks Gino...thats exactly like mine! I'm sort of coming around to the conclusion that green suits these cars better than any other colour.
Is it the picture or are you running a lot of neg camber?

Hi,
No it's the picture ..car is on a slight incline and it must be the angle of the picture I took.
I have about 1? camber.

The colour I chose is the Jaguar BRG...

I think it's really nice..

In 1964 when I ordered my S7 kit, I had a choice of color for the fiberglass parts. Chose BRG, which was in the gel coat, exactly like the picture above, but with Triumph wheels, not Lotus. Eventually went with the smaller headlights as well.

I do like the yellow and ali. I've been trying to find a nice shade of yellow. I was wondering if AA van yellow might work. Or perhaps the ducati yellow - what do you think? .if there's a better looking motorbike than that, other than a BSA otter, then I'll eat my hat:)
